Track your vehicle and access diagnostic info through your portable device or computer

Overview: The Audiovox Car Connection is a cellular GPS device that sends location, diagnostic, and safety alerts to your smartphone or computer from your vehicle. The Car Connection interface module simply plugs into your vehicle's OBDII port, which is located under the dash of most vehicles that were manufactured after 1996. Once you've plugged in the Car Connection module, and registered your vehicle online from the Car Connection website, and signed up for a service plan - it begins sharing vital information with you that immediately improves your safety and security.
Car Connection Service Plans: Two service plans are available which give you unlimited day-to-day usage of the Car Connection system in the United States (not available outside the USA). Service Plans include:
Note: You can register up to 20 Car Connection devices. A monthly service plan is required for each device. Click here for registration instructions.
Vehicle Health: The Audiovox Car Connection lets you know what your mechanic knows before you go in for service, as well as provides friendly service reminders. Car Connection will send alerts and reminders by text or email if there is any health related issues concerning your vehicle.
Fuel Savings: Car Connection can help improve your fuel consumption by providing information like average idle time and speed the vehicle is most fuel efficient at, as well as the carbon foot print left by the vehicle. The Fuel Savings feature monitors daily driving habits and gives you the ability to generate a fuel consumption report by MPG (miles per gallon). Car Connection provides a numeric value as well as a visual MPG value in a Red, Yellow, or Green format (Green being the most optimum performance). This information is updated on the Car Connection website each time you log in.
Driver Scoring: The Audiovox Car Connection contains an onboard 3-axis accelerometer that can detect hard braking, fast acceleration, and sharp turning. The Car Connection uses this data in combination with your driving habits, mileage of the vehicle, and advanced algorithms to determine a "Driver Score." Car Connection provides a numeric value as well as a visual score value in a Red, Yellow, or Green format (Green being the most optimum score). You can toggle between a 7-day, 30-day, or Yearly score. This information is updated on the Car Connection website each time you log in. This can be helpful tool for young drivers or an aging parent. Some insurance carriers even issue discounts based on scores (check with your insurance company for specifics and availability).
Vehicle Location: Car Connection tracks your vehicle when running every 5 minutes. It creates a path as the vehicle drives. You'll be able to login to the Car Connection website and instantly track your vehicle and view its path. You'll be able to see its current location, as well as its previous locations within a 24 hour period. When your vehicle is not running, Car Connection will monitor the location of it every hour. Track online or from a Smartphone in real-time.
Safety Zones (Geo-Fences): The Safety Zones feature allows you to create specific zones that notify you (by email or text) if a driver of the vehicle enters or exits that location. Zones are configured by the user on the Car Connection website and can be as small as a 600' diameter circle or as large as an entire city. You can set as many as five zones. This feature is great for tracking your teenage kid or aging parent. It may also be used as a Stolen Vehicle notification.
Restrict Phone Usage: A Free downloadable app is available from Car Connection that can be downloaded to your Android or Blackberry smartphone which limits the use of your smartphone while driving. Car Connection will automatically launch the app loaded on the phone when the vehicle's ignition is turned ON. When a call or text is received while driving, the sender will receive a text notification that your are driving and will call them back. Now, you can have peace of mind that your loved on is not driving while being distracted by a phone call. You can select numbers that you need access to while driving (such as 911).
Lot Spot: Lot Spot automatically logs the location of your vehicle when the ignition is shut off and provides Google walking instructions on your iPhone, Android, or Blackberry smartphone back to your vehicle.
LED Status Indicators: The Car Connection module features an LED which indicates operation status.
OBD Y-Harness (optional): For certain applications, the Audiovox Car Connection module may interfere with the driver's knees or you may simply want to hide the module. For those instances this "OBD Y-harness" (220OBDHAR, sold separately) is available.
